Spanish airport workers have called for a national strike at airports across the country during the Easter holiday.

The CCOO and USO unions, which contain the majority of Spanish airport workers, voted to strike for four days. These two unions represent 65 percent of the employees of Aena, the state-run management company which runs Spain's airports.

The proposed strike does not yet have the support of Spain's biggest union, the UGT.

The walk-out is proposed for the 12-13 April and 16-17 April, coinciding with the beginning and the end of the easter holiday – the busiest time of the year at Spanish airports.
