UPDATED: Bristol Airport Flight Disruption Continues

7th January 2007 According to news reports on the BBC [www.bbc.co.uk], flights at Bristol Airport are expected to resume by 10am tomorrow after tests on a runway at the centre of a safety row.

Ten airlines had cancelled or diverted flights after claims that aircraft had skidded on landing in wet conditions on a refurbished runway.

A total of 385 flights and 25,000 passengers have been affected since the dispute began on Friday.

However, the airport's own website still carries the following statement:

"All flights at Bristol International will be subject to disruption on Sunday 7th January and Monday 8th January, due to the closure of the runway for engineering work up until Monrday morning.

For some services diverted to other airports, passengers MUST still check in at Bristol International, where they will be then be coached to their departure airport."
