TAP Air Portugal Pilots Strike Action
22nd October 2007 TAP Air Portugal have advised the TD Travel Group of the following strike action that will affect flights on:23rd October, 25th October and 27th October.
The Civil Aviation Pilots’ Union (SPAC) has scheduled strike action on all national commercial aviation companies which includes TAP for October 23 (from 2pm to 5pm), October 25 (24hrs) and October 27 (from 4am to 5pm). The reasons behind such action are the result of national legislation relating to pilot retirement ages and conditions, a matter that is the exclusive responsibility of the government.
These stoppages will inevitably lead to problems for the company, seriously affecting the normality of its operations and in particular passengers with trips booked during the periods in question.
TAP is making every possible effort to minimize the predictable consequences of this strike action.
