Portugal: Aviation workers to join November 24 general strike

21st November 2011 According to a report in the Portuguese American Journal, several unions representing aviation workers have agreed to join the general strike scheduled for November 24 in Portugal.

Baggage handlers union, cabin staff union and air traffic controllers unions have said they are supporting the protest against the government's austerity measures.

Portugal's two main unions, CGTP and UGT, had called for a general strike scheduled for November 24.
