Planned road closure at Manchester airport

18th February 2009 Manchester airport have asked TD to advise all passengers travelling to or from the airport of a upcoming road closure.

Malaga Avenue, the road linking the two roundabouts between Commonwealth House and the Station, will be closed for emergency road works for one week starting at 05.00am Monday 2 March 2009.

The road closure will affect traffic moving between Terminal 1/Terminal 3 and Terminal 2. Diversions will be signed to take traffic along Outwood Lane, Ringway Road and World Way. The map below shows the location of the road works, and the diversion route.

Please note the following:

** The bus station remains accessible from the Terminal 2 side of the airport via the Commonwealth House roundabout

** The Station forecourt will remain open through out and accessible from the Commonwealth House roundabout

** Traffic leaving the forecourt will only be able to turn right onto Malaga Avenue in the direction of Terminal 2

** Access to the Radisson Hotel off the Commonwealth House Roundabout will be unaffected. Traffic leaving the Radisson will have to leave the airport via the Terminal 1 road system

** Hotel buses will continue to use the Station forecourt

** Taxis and private car drop off will continue to use the Station forecourt

** Terminal 3 to Station transfer bus will operate as normal from the Station forecourt but will not stop at Terminal 1

** Premier Park and Shuttle Park buses will operate as normal but diverted to avoid Malaga Avenue. Journey times and timetable will not change.

** Pedestrian routes through the area will not be affected
