Lufthansa Strike Action Cancels Flights
23rd July 2008 Lufthansa has cancelled almost 1,000 regional flights at subsidiaries Eurowings and CityLine as pilots walked out in a pay dispute. The strike is scheduled from 12pm on 22 July 2008 until 12am on 23 July 2008.The following airports in Germany are affected:
Eurowings:
Nurnberg, Dusseldorf, Hannover, Munster/Osnabruck, Frankfurt/Main, Bremen, Dresden, Leipzig/Halle, Stuttgart, Berlin-Tegel, Hamburg
Lufthansa CityLine:
Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Berlin Tegel, Frankfurt/Main, Bremen, Cologne, Nürnberg, Paderborn, Münster/Osnabrück, Friedrichshafen, Dresden, Hannover, Leipzig
Lufthansa cancelled 465 flights on Tuesday 22 July 2008.
On Wednesday 23 July 2008, 525 out of 625 scheduled flights will be cancelled.
All other flights operated by Lufthansa's regional partners Contact Air, Augsburg Airways and Air Dolomiti (indicated in the flight schedule as C3, IQ, EN) as well as all German domestic, inter-european and long-haul flights operated by Lufthansa Airlines are not affected.
