KLM and Lufthansa expand into South America
18th February 2011 KLM is to launch a three-times weekly Amsterdam – Buenos Aires service from the 31st October 2011, rising to four-times weekly from spring 2012.The airline last served the Argentinian capital in 2001. KLM will use a 318-seat Boeing 777-200ER on the new route which will be the longest flight in its network.
German national carrier Lufthansa will resume its Frankfurt – Rio de Janeiro service from the 30th October1, 2011. The route will be served five-times weekly using an Airbus A340-300.
