Kenyan court blocks strike at Kenya Airways

12th October 2010 Kenya's industrial court has blocked a planned strike over pay by workers at Kenya Airways, the airline said on Monday.

The Kenya Aviation and Allied Workers Union (AAWU) last week announced an indefinite work stoppage from this Wednesday, and warned the strike could cripple the aviation industry in east Africa's largest economy.

An official at the airline said the court had ruled on the matter after being petitioned by the national carrier.
