Flights Face Further Disruptions as French Strikes Continue
3rd April 2006 Air France-KLM, the RATP Paris transport authority and the SNCF state railroad company all face disruption on April 4 as french students launch a fifth day of nationwide protests against a new youth-labor law.RATP said two metros out of three would run tomorrow and between half and three-quarter of the commuter trains. SNCF said two high speed trains out of three would run as would about 55 percent of the regional trains. Air traffic controllers and school teachers also announced they would go on strike.
France's main workers' unions, including the country's largest Confederation Francaise Democratique du Travail, which have taken part in the previous demonstrations alongside students, plan to stop working as early as 8 p.m. today prior to joining tomorrow's marches.
A previous strike on March 28, had a limited impact on transport, although demonstrations drew up to 3 million supporters.
