First Great Western Strike Action Announced

11th January 2008 First Great Western workers to strike on January 20 and 21

Over 500 guards drivers at First Great Western will strike for 48 hours from a minute after midnight on January 20 after voting overwhelmingly for action in a dispute over a breakdown in industrial relations and the use of managers to guard and drive trains.

First Great Western runs services between London, Reading, Bristol and the South West.
