There have been incidents of live fire and shells landing on Tunisian soil at the western Libya/Tunisia border crossing of Dehiba. We currently advise against all but essential travel to areas of Tunisia within 40km of the Libyan border and we continue to advise against all travel to Libya. This restriction does not affect the main tourist resorts in Tunisia.
A curfew was imposed on 7 May in Tunis and the capital city suburbs following two days of protest that witnessed some incidents of violence and damage to property. The curfew is currently in force between 2100 and 0500.
