FCO: Iceland airspace closed on Sunday 22 May
22nd May 2011 The UK Foreign Office have released the following update:Icelandic airspace will be closed for all flights (international and domestic) on Sunday 22 May 2011 based on advice from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre.
There are no predictions at this time for the status of flights Monday 23 May onwards.
Affected passengers are advised to remain in regular contact with their travel agents or airlines for the latest news in case windows of opportunity open for flights to operate. Updates to our Iceland travel advice will be posted as more information is available.
