EU Bans 93 Airlines for Safety Reasons
22nd March 2006 The European Commission has drawn up a list of airlines to be banned from flying in the European Union.The blacklist, published today, contains 93 airlines that have been stopped from flying through Europe along with a further 3 airlines that may operate only by leasing aircraft from a non blacklisted company. The majority of the airlines listed on the report are African based but airlines from Democratic People Republic of Korea and Kazakhstan are also included.
