Earthquakes and tsunami warnings in the Pacific

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake has struck Japan. Tsunami warnings are in place across the Pacific.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9 struck 250 miles (400km) from Tokyo on 11 March. There continues to be a risk of aftershocks and tsunamis throughout Japan. You should contact the local authorities for advice, and stay away from coastal areas.
