Dubai Airport Closed After Accident

12th March 2007 Dubai airport was closed for over seven hours today (Monday, 12th March) after a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft was involved in an accident while trying to take off, officials said.

Fourteen people were slightly injured in the accident at the Middle East's busiest airport when a malfunction occurred on Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight 006 causing its nose and engines to slam into the ground.

The airport has now reopened.
