British Airways - Disruption Cost GBP40 Million
6th September 2006 British Airways (BA) have released their August travel figures which revealed the airline had to cancel 1,280 flights as a result of the disruption caused due to heightened security at UK airports.Although the actual number of passengers was up 5 percent on last year, the airline estimates that the financial impact for the month of August was around £40 million. This includes lost revenue and increased costs of hotel accommodation, catering and baggage repatriation.
