BAA strike: Talks begin
16th August 2010 BAA staff at Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen are due to begin talks later today in an attempt to avert a strike that would close the airports.Security staff, engineers, and firefighters have voted to strike over a 1.5% pay offer. The union would have to give a minimum of one week's notice for industrial action, meaning that strikes could start in the week beginning 23 August.
