BA Connect to be sold to Flybe
6th November 2006 British Airways has confirmed it is to sell its UK regional airline business BA Connect to Flybe.Previously called CitiExpress, BA relaunched the service in February 2006 as BA Connect promising a service to compete with rival low cost carriers on certain routes. Since it's launch, the service has failed to make a profit.
The sale does not include BA Connect's London City or Manchester to JFK routes.
The sale will increase Flybe's business traffic with new routes to key European commercial centres including Paris, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Milan.
