Air France - KLM Increase Fuel Charge
9th August 2006 Air France KLM is the latest airline to increase its fuel surcharges in response to high oil prices. The charges will come into effect from 10th August.Air France said the surcharge would go up by 1 euro on domestic flights, 2 euros on medium-haul flights and 7 euros on long-haul trips.
KLM is adding 5 euros to long haul flights and 1 euro to European services.
The French-Dutch airline blamed "soaring fuel prices", adding that the surcharge will be withdrawn as soon as the barrell price drops below $65 for more than 30 consecutive days.
