Aer Lingus Strike Cancelled
21st August 2007 The Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association IALPA have suspended their planned industrial action against Aer Lingus. IALPA had called a strike on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (21st / 22nd August), claiming that a move to the airline's new hub in Belfast will see pilots employed on less favourable terms and conditions than they have in Dublin.Aer Lingus will now operate a full short-haul service for Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd August.
The following long-haul flights will remain cancelled:
Tuesday 21st August
EI105 Dublin - New York (JFK)
EI104 New York (JFK)- Dublin
Wednesday 22nd August
EI123 Dublin - Chicago (ORD)
EI122 Chicago (ORD)- Dublin
The following flight will still operate at the re-scheduled time:
EI585 Malaga-Dublin Depart 08:00 Arrive 10:00 Tuesday 21st August.
Passengers holding confirmed bookings on short haul flights are advised to check-in at least 2 hours prior to departure while passengers travelling to the USA and Dubai are advised to check-in at least 3 hours prior to departure.
Customers that were due to travel on Tuesday 21st August and Wednesday 22nd August and who cancelled bookings due to the proposed strike action may re-book their flight free of charge. Alternatively, passengers may present themselves at check-in where they will be re-accommodated.
