Important Changes Affecting Travellers to the United StatesFrom 4 October 2005, US Government legislation will require all passengers entering the US to provide details of their country of residence.All non-US citizens will also be required to provide a destination address. This is in addition to the following currently required fields:
For most passengers, the destination address is where they will be staying on arrival in the US for the duration of their stay, or on their first night. Passengers who travel to and from the US within the same day will also be required to provide details of a destination address. London City Airport prepares for rail linkThe Docklands Light Railway (DLR) extension to London City Airport is due to open on December 15 offering links from Bank and Canary Wharf. KLM & Air FranceSelf Service Check – In At Manchester AirportKLM passengers travelling on Electronic Tickets can now check in via Self Service Check In Machines at Manchester airport. The New Air France Travel Concept One and a half years ago, Air France launched the New Travel Concept on their long-haul fleet, which is being equipped with redesigned l'Espace Première (First Class) and l'Espace Affaires (Business Class) cabins. Setting the standard in elegance, comfort and efficiency, it combines technical expertise with unprecedented levels of tactile comfort. Each seat folds out a full 180º into a “lie-flat” bed. This is already available on 15 routes and is being progressively deployed throughout the Air France fleet. Air France now offers 26 direct flights each week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to key Indian cities including Mumbai (Bombay), Chennai (Madras), Delhi and Bangalore. |

EmiratesEmirates to Introduce a Fifth Daily Service to London Heathrow The increase in capacity means that Emirates will offer 13 departures each day to the UK from Dubai, some 91 return flights per week. Alongside five services a day to London Heathrow, Emirates also offers a further choice of three daily services to London Gatwick, two per day to both Manchester and Birmingham as well as a daily service to Glasgow. New Lounge Opening The airline has also announced it is to open a dedicated lounge at Gatwick for first and business class passengers. |

bmiWashington Suspension Reluctantly bmi will suspend the Manchester – Washington service from the end of the summer. bmi will also be refining the Caribbean services over the hurricane season therefore the Manchester – St Lucia service will be suspended for 7 weeks from the end of August and re-start 24 October 2005. New Route Announced bmi is adding a four-times-mid-weekly Airbus A320 flight between London Heathrow and Lyon, running from 3rd December to 22nd April 2006. |

Regional heats took place in Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham with the winners and runners up from each heat taking a place in the final. The team representing the TD Travel Group used their extensive knowledge of travel, sport, music and current affairs to great affect. Stuart Hall was the compere for the evening, and the TD Team proved to be a knockout playing their Joker with uncanny skill, to leap salmon-like above the other teams and lift the trophy aloft. Thanks must go to all the participants and supporters in the heats and the final, as well as Marriott Hotels and the Star Alliance. |

American has announced new First and Business Class menus on flights between Europe and the US as part of a series of moves to enhance the customer service experience on International flights.
