Dubai and Ramadan 2006

16th May 2006 Ramadan 2006 is expected to begin on 24 September and last thru to 23 October.

Ramadan can be a very special time to visit Dubai and the UAE as it offers a real chance to experience and observe some of the emirate's deep-rooted customs.

During Ramadan visitors should refrain from eating, drinking or smoking in public from sunrise to sunset during this time, but most hotels have screened areas where tourists can eat and drink.

Visitors can also visit the 'iftar' (breaking of the fast) tents at sunset for the main meal of the day. For people who want to get to know the real Dubai way of life, Ramadan is an truly interesting experience.
