Manchester Airport News Round-Up
23rd March 2006 Aer Arann----------
Aer Arann have announced another new service from Manchester Airport with the introduction of services to Angers in Northern France. The service will operate three days per week Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday departing Manchester at 3.40pm midweek and 11.15am on Sunday and departing Angers at 7.05pm midweek and 2.35pm on Sunday with a flight time of one hour and forty minutes.
All of the services will be operated by a 66 seater ATR72 aircraft. Aer Arann also operates flights to Manchester from Galway, Waterford and Kerry.
BA Connect

BA Connect will add additional capacity to their existing Milan and Madrid services from Manchester. Both double daily routes will see the introduction of the Bae146 aircraft on one rotation each adding much need capacity.
Flybe

Flybe inaugurated three flights per day from Manchester to Belfast City Airport on 9th January. This increased to four daily flights in February when a twice daily Exeter service also commenced.
Both routes are operated with the Dash 8-400 and compliment the existing operation to Southampton.
Fly Global Span

FlyGlobespan will operate a three per week service from Manchester to Cape Town from the start of the winter 2006 season. Flights will be operated with the B767 aircraft configured in three classes, Lows Frills, Premium Economy and Business Class.
This is the first scheduled flight to Cape Town and currently the only service from Manchester to South Africa.
Norwegian AS

Norwegian AS will commence a twice-weekly service from Bergen to Manchester from 6th April. Flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays with B737-300 equipment configured with 148 seats in a single class.
The schedule and flight times allow weekend breaks and business travel in both directions.
Ryanair

Ryanair inaugurated a three times per week service from Shannon to Manchester on 24th February.
This new service restarts the popular route following British Airways decision to suspend operations last year. Shannon is the second destination to Manchester served by Ryanair, who also operate four daily flights from Dublin.
VLM
----
VLM has added a Saturday morning service between Manchester and London City airport taking the number of weekly flights to 42.
