Bangkok airport rail link opens

24th August 2010 The 28km Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport rail link was launched yesterday (23August) after numerous delays and setbacks.

The Express Line runs non-stop from the airport to the City Air Terminal (CAT) in Bangkok’s Makkasan area and takes just 15 minutes. The Express service will cost 100 baht (approx GBP2) until the end of 2010.

The Airport Rail Link also offers the non express City Line service, which runs from Phaya Thai to the airport with a full range of stops.

A baggage check-in service will be available at the Makkasan terminal from the end of the year.
