FCO update China travel advice
9th July 2009 The UK Foreign Office (FCO) has updated its travel advice for UK nationals travelling to the province of Xinjiang in western China, as ethnic violence between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese continues to escalate.The FCO said: "To date, no British nationals have been affected, but you should avoid all areas where demonstrations are taking place, and be aware of heightened tensions and disruption to travel at this time. You should keep yourself informed of developments and regularly check this travel advice."
