Edinburgh airport security alert
6th July 2009 Due to an ongoing security incident, check in and security at Edinburgh Airport is currently closed. Passengers due to fly from the airport today are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline.http://www.edinburghairport.com/

Hundreds of people have been evacuated from part of Edinburgh Airportafter the discovery of a suspicious package.
Staff and passengers have been cleared from the check-in area of the main terminal building, the food court and the domestic arrivals area.
Flights are still leaving but passengers arriving off international flights are being held in the arrivals hall.
The package is thought to have been discovered shortly before 1500 BST.
BAA said it was too early to say how the discovery of the package may affect flights later on Monday.
Passengers are being advised to contact their airlines.
