Aer Lingus cut long-haul flights

15th June 2009 Aer Lingus has announced details of its long haul and short haul schedules for the coming 2009/10 winter period following a review of all operations.

Direct service between Dublin and Washington will be suspended for the winter season effective 25 October 2009. Daily one-stop service will continue to be offered in cooperation with our US partners Jetblue and United Airlines.

Direct service between Dublin and San Francisco will be suspended for the winter season effective 25 October 2009. Daily one-stop service will continue to be offered in cooperation with our US partners Jetblue and United Airlines.

Services between Shannon and Chicago will be suspended for the winter effective 01 September 2009. Connecting service will be offered via Dublin or Boston over the winter period.

Following Delta's decision to terminate their service between Shannon and New York, Aer Lingus' 4 times per week direct service remains under close review.
