Emirates Increase Baggage Allowance

2nd October 2008 Emirates has recently amended it's rules with regard to the free baggage allowances provided to our passengers and these are effective for all tickets issued on or after 01 September 2008 where travel commences on or after 01 October 2008.

Tickets issued will only show baggage allowances of 20Kg for travel in Economy Class. However, Emirates airport offices around our entire network are aware that additional allowances are to be provided as detailed below:

* For travel from UK to all Emirates destinations in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, an additional baggage allowance of 10Kg will be permitted at check-in for the outbound leg of the journey
* For travel from UK to all Emirates destinations in East Africa, West Africa, China, Hong Kong and Manila, we are pleased to provide an additional baggage allowance of 10Kg at check-in and in both directions.

Please note that where an Emirates ticket is issued and part of the itinerary is to be flown using carriers other than Emirates (eg. for travel on domestic services from any permitted UK point to London), no additional baggage allowances will be provided as this is outside the control of Emirates.
