Eos Airlines Ceases Flying
Business class only airline, Eos has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States, leaving hundreds of executives stranded on either side of the Atlantic.
Its final flight, a Boeing 757 to New York's JFK airport, took off from London Stansted at 6.30pm last night.
Coming just four months after rival Maxjet went bankrupt, the demise of Eos looks set to increase the pressure on Aim-listed Silverjet, the only remaining business class-only airline.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR GUESTS
April 26, 2008
On April 26, 2008, Eos Airlines filed a voluntary petition for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and ceased operations. We were forced into this position because of issues that prevented our closing on a financing contemplated by a recently signed term sheet. We deeply regret that we were forced to cease operations without advance notice and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Q: Have you ceased operations entirely?
A: On April 26, 2008, we plan to operate Flight 6 (8:30pm) from JFK to STN. On April 27, 2008, we plan to operate Flights 3 (1:00pm) and 7 (6:30pm) from STN to JFK. Flight 5 from STN to JFK and all flights from JFK to STN on April 27, 2008 are canceled. We will cease operations entirely after April 27, 2008.
Q: I have a reservation that I’ve already paid for on a future Eos flight. How can I get a refund?
A: You should be able to obtain a credit from your credit card company. Please contact your credit card company or your travel agent.
Q: How should I go about changing my travel arrangements? Will other airlines honor Eos tickets?
A: Please contact other airlines directly to make alternate travel plans. However, other airlines are not under any obligation to honor unused Eos tickets.
Q: Why can’t Eos simply give me a refund?
A: Bankruptcy law precludes our making any such payments. If you are unable to obtain a refund from your Credit Card Company or travel agent, you can file a claim with the Bankruptcy Court and it will be considered as part of the Chapter 11 process. Claims information is available at http://kccllc.net/eosairlines.
Q: Is there a chance that Eos will emerge from bankruptcy and begin operations again?
A: We understand the affinity our Guests have had for Eos and we feel the same way about our Guests. We wish we could have pursued other options, but unfortunately, Eos is going out of business.
