BA Delay Longhaul Move to Terminal 5

British Airways and BAA have agreed to defer the move of the airline's longhaul flights from Heathrow Terminal 4.

Taken from BA.com
Why are you delaying the long haul move to Terminal 5?

We do not want to put customers at risk of the kind of disruption we saw on Terminal 5’s first day.

We need more time to iron out remaining problems, including the baggage system and its operation, to give us confidence that customer service in Terminal 5 can be maintained at a high level when the terminal is handling larger numbers of customers.

When in June will the move take place?

We will work out a timetable with BAA for phasing the move. It will begin in June but we have not decided the precise date.

Which flights will move in June?

We have said that the move will begin in June.We will work out a timetable with BAA for phasing the move.
We will provide more details as soon as possible.

Will all long haul flights stay in Terminal 4?

Some long haul flights have already moved to Terminal 5.
These are unaffected and will continue to operate from Terminal 5.
They are:
Hong Kong
Johannesburg
Los Angeles
Miami
San Francisco
Tokyo
Vancouver

We will move the majority of our longhaul flights from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5.
However, a small number of flights will move to Terminal 3 in January 2009 with our oneworld partners

These are:
Bangkok
Singapore
Sydney
