British Airways Strike Edges Closer
11th March 2008 Talks between British Airways and the British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa) have broken down with no resolve in site.BALPA says staff at the new carrier, BA OpenSkies, will be hired on inferior terms to those of existing workers.
BA says it would be too costly to match existing conditions at the new venture.
The airline said if strike dates were issued, it would seek a court injunction to prevent pilots taking industrial action.
